The pool is what???

Our friends have a very nice pool.  Currently, however, the pool water is kind of forest/puke green.  Breanna said she loved to swim in their pool, and then Shane said, "Yes, but remember the water is green, so we can't swim in it right now.  We have to wait for the water to be clear."  She replied, "Queer?"  Um, not exactly, but we'll work on that pronunciation.

Learning the Bible

Yesterday's Sunday school lesson was about Daniel and the lions' den.  At lunch, we were asking her for details on the story and she said, "God shut their mouths."  We were impressed that she really understood the story, and then she added, "with sticky tape!"  I thought, wow, sticky tape really does do wonders - thank you, Dora!  Then it took a little of the humor away when we realized that her handout did indeed have sticky tape over the pictures of the lions' mouths to symbolize them being shut.  But hey, she still got the idea.

Never heard of that one...

Doing an alphabet puzzle with Breanna, she had to tell me all the words she could come up with that started with whichever letter she picked up randomly before it could go in the puzzle.  When we got to "o", she said "ostrich," since we had just done an animal puzzle.  When I picked up "r," she said, "rrrr."  I said, "Yes, it says rrrr, but what words start with rrrr?"  She thought for a minute, and then said with a big smile, "Rstrich."

What Daddy teaches...

This morning with yogurt and crunch munch for breakfast, we had an example of Breanna remembering what her Daddy said.  A little bit of her food (yogurt and Grape Nuts, in case you wondered what crunch munch was) was falling over the edge of her bowl.  I pointed it out to her and she said, "Mayday, mayday!!!"

And that was after she randomly commented on how much she loved her daddy and that he is beautiful.  Such a daddy's girl!!

4th of July Prayers

After a full day of Kyra's bday party followed by dinner and fireworks at the Langstons with George and Yance, Breanna was whooped and got to bed at close to 11 pm.  Sheesh!!  As Daddy said prayers thanking God for the great day and our country where we're free, she blurted out, "And purple!!" because on the way home we had asked her what her favorite color is.  I guess she has changed from pink to purple and just wanted to thank God for her new favorite!

Then after I laid her down and said I love you one more time, she said, one more time, "Celebwate Amewica."  And then I think she was asleep before I left the room.  :-)
