Bedtime Conversation

Breanna: I want you to be in heaven with me someday.

Daddy: I hope I go to heaven, too.

Breanna: Why?

Daddy: Why do I want to go to heaven??

Breanna: No, why do you hope you go to heaven?

Daddy: Because I want to be there, too.

Breanna: Well, do you believe in God?

Daddy: Yes.

Breanna: Then you'll be in heaven, because if you believe in God, you get to be in heaven!

Who would have thought?

Whose baby has ever thrown up all over the clean laundry they were carrying? And whose 4-yr-old has ever made up a song about how she wants to keep her potty seat, sung to the tune of Step by Step (O God, you are my God, and I will ever praise you...)? Maybe just mine.

Yummy.

The fun never ends around here. Breanna decided the jars of spices from the rack would make a good toy. I thought this was okay (stacking towers, etc), and she was sharing with Katelyn. Many are still sealed (like I know what to do with coriander seed), but somehow Katelyn got one open and she and the couch now smell very Italian. Okay, moving on to another toy...

I just went to put a load of laundry in, and everyone was getting along, so I decided to go to the restroom, too. I mean, you have to take advantage of those golden opportunities, right? Then I heard, "She spit up on your carpet.......And she's playing in it!!!!"

Ouch!

Breanna pinched her finger in a drawer today and came to show me, ever so carefully holding down each other finger to stick up only the affected one. The result made me chuckle through my sympathy.

Army Men

Breanna is picking up all our VHS tapes that Katelyn has decided to constantly pull out in a big pile, and she just got to Man in the Iron Mask. She said a couple of them look like Joseph's brothers (from the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat movie), I guess just because they have beards. Then she said, "The rest look like army men. Army men are mean." (They all look pretty serious on the movie cover.) I told her army men aren't all mean - Uncle Jerry is in the army. She said, "Yeah, he's a nice army man." :-)

Constructive Dinner Criticism

Tonight I made Impossibly Easy Cheeseburger Pie from the back of the Bisquick box. It was quite tasty, but Breanna, who generally vetoes anything I make, said, "I'm not feeling this."

Christmas Toy Shopping

I took Breanna to ToysRUs today to spend some of her Christmas money. Out of the whole store, she picked an Ariel (surprise!) kickboard (and asked if I'd put a pool out on the deck so she could swim). But the funniest part was that she kept picking up toys from the bottom shelves that had tipped over. I told her it was okay if they laid down, but she didn't want to leave them that way. Whose child is this anyway??

Breanna's thoughts on cheerleaders

Breanna and Shane were discussing the Colts game and Breanna randomly stated that, "Cheerleaders are angry. And they don't like God." Um, not sure where that came from. :-) And I think the Woods would disagree!
